Our client, a leading player in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration & Test) to join the team in Barrow on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading system integration and testing processes within a defence environment
Creating and compiling detailed test scripts for complex engineering systems
Managing and coordinating system integration and testing within SIM/STIM environments
Providing technical expertise and support to engineering teams
Ensuring compliance with Defence Standards and industry regulations
Overseeing the acceptance testing and accreditation of safety-critical systems
Developing control system models using Mathworks toolsets
Managing requirements, engineering life cycle and quality assurance processes

Job Requirements:

Strong technical background in a complex engineering industry
Experience with system integration, testing, and acceptance
Proficiency in SIM/STIM environments
Ability to compile effective test scripts
Familiarity with Defence Standards and industry standards such as Def Stan 00-56, Def Stan 00-55, IEC 61508 / 61511, ARP 4754, DO-178C / DO-254
Experience with the Mathworks toolsets for control system model development
Understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, engineering lifecycle, and quality assurance
CEng, MIET or the ability to work towards satisfying these requirements is desirable
