Ideally it would be someone with Furniture contacts/leads, so someone from that industry.
A furniture manager position is needed initially to cover for maternity leave but day two to help amalgamate the wider group offer. You will need to have experience in the London furniture market with established relationships and demonstrable knowledge in delivering turnkey commercial projects. You will work closely not only with the additional furniture team members, but with the wider project team where you will focus on increasing lead generation, design and pitch tenders, and help the team to reach and exceed ambitious agreed targets.
This fast-paced position offers an opportunity to assist with the shaping of the furniture group offer by reviewing, adapting and where necessary implementing new systems to help with our group ambitions. We have a laid-back approach, however there is a huge amount of accountability, and we expect our team to continuously challenge each other and the status quo.
The job role will principally be based in Reading however you would be expected to work in our other office locations in Birmingham and of course in London to maintain and expand your connections.
The responsibilities of this job include:
Build relationships with clients by providing up to date furniture knowledge and problem solving.
Build relationships with suppliers and drive better rates for the business.
Create and present pitch content for competitive tenders.
Price preconstruction packages for both tender and negotiated projects.
Assist project team with value engineering exercises when needed.
Drive sales by sourcing direct work for the furniture team and where possible working with the Business Development team to help with this.
Continuously research new suppliers and keep up the date with the latest trends.
Work closely with furniture team to review and develop processes and efficiencies.
Host furniture tour days with clients in Clerkenwell.
Develop furniture specification packages for client review and sign off.
Work closely with the furniture operations team when handing over contract packages for them to deliver.
Work closely with the design team and assist with the specification for projects keeping budgets in mind.
Collaboration with external visualisers to make sure our offer is industry leading and achievable.
Emphasis on responsible sourcing and creating an offer that is centred around ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
Develop and workshop a strategy to unify the group furniture offer with the wider project team.
