£25,000 to £30,000 per annum pro-rata, commensurate with experience
We are working with a very well-established, highly reputable law firm, who are looking to attract a Part Time Legal Aid Billing Assistant to support their friendly and supportive Childcare (Public Law) Team in Nuneaton.
The position is offered on a part time basis, working 3 days per week or equivalent hours over 4-5 days. Please specify your preferred working pattern on application.
The role will involve:
Ensuring childcare legal aid files are promptly and accurately costed
Ensuring payment is obtained on time from the Legal Aid Agency
Preparing and submitting claims for assessment by the Legal Aid Agency
Maintaining records detailing the stage reached and the progress of bills towards payment by the Legal Aid Agency
Use of a legal case management system
Liaising with various teams within the law firmSuitable Candidates will have
Previous experience working for an SRA regulated law firm
Previous experience of working within a busy public law care team
Previous legal aid billing and costing experience
A high level of numeracy and literacy
Strong IT skills This is a part time, permanent job. The role will be fully office-based initially. Hybrid working will be considered within six to twelve months' time, as the firm are investing in technology, working towards becoming paperless.
