Position: History Teacher

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Role Requirements:
Teaching Expertise: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in History for students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3 & KS4), adapting content to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the History department to develop and adapt curriculum resources, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum and fostering an interest in historical inquiry and analysis.
Student Support: Provide personalised support and feedback to help students reach their full potential, from offering extra assistance to those needing support to encouraging critical engagement for high achievers.
Assessment and Progress Tracking: Use a range of assessment techniques to monitor student progress, identify areas for growth, and adjust lesson plans as necessary.
Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to discuss, debate, and explore historical topics.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in history education.Qualifications and Experience:
QTS Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Subject Knowledge: Strong foundation in History, with expertise in effective teaching practices and strategies.
DBS Certificate: Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex historical concepts in an engaging way.
