We are working with a leading client in the water sector that is seeking an exceptional Process Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis.

This role is perfect for a highly skilled and chartered professional who has extensive UK experience in clean water projects. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the process design of clean water treatment projects from initial concept through to detailed design stages.
Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical specifications for water treatment systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them through design processes and problem-solving.
Conduct design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, providing technical input and ensuring project requirements are met to the highest standard.
Ensure project designs are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive UK experience as a Process Design Engineer within the water sector, specifically on clean water projects.
Strong expertise in water treatment processes such as filtration, coagulation, disinfection, and chemical dosing systems.
Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or similar.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with strong problem-solving abilities.
