Lead Designer – Structural Steel

My client is looking for a Lead Designer to join their team. This role is a mix of hands-on design work and managing a small team of 2 to 3 designers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural steelwork and be proficient in Tekla.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design team, overseeing workloads and ensuring project deadlines are met

*

Work closely with the Technical Lead and Engineering Team to develop efficient and accurate designs

*

Produce detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures

*

Review and check designs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and buildability

*

Provide guidance, training, and support to junior designers

*

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless project execution

*

Maintain quality standards and ensure designs align with industry regulations

Requirements:

*

Proven experience in structural and architectural steelwork design

*

Tekla Structures proficiency is essential

*

Experience in leading or mentoring a small design team

*

Strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure

*

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
