We are working with an award winning, independent insurance broker based in East Sussex who are looking for a Claims Handler to join their growing office on a part-time basis!

Our client offers a unique and personalised service to their customers and they are looking for like-minded individuals who are customer focused to be a part of the companies journey.

Job Role:

* Point of contact for new claims, following up on an existing claim or dealing with claim enquiries from customers and other parties

* Discuss new claims in detail with customers to determine whether cover is in place and either report the claim to the insurer or explain to the customer why they cannot make a claim

* Develop a strong and in depth understanding of the different insurance policies and products

* Manage existing claims through to settlement, liaising with insurers and customers

* Negotiate with insurers, loss adjusters and third parties to deliver the best outcome for clients

* Work closely with the Claims Manager and Risk Management team

* Deliver excellent customer service to clients, brokers and insurers

* Remain up to date and follow all regulatory and company legislation and procedures

Knowledge required:

* Experience working in the insurance industry, preferably within claims

* Proven ability in managing relationships with customers, insurers and key stakeholders

Skills:

* Able to work under pressure on own initiative, managing own workload effectively

* Strong communication and articulate

* Great negotiation skills

The Offer:

* 25 hours per week with a salary of £23k plus opportunity to earn uncapped commission through referrals to other areas of the business
