What you'll be doing;
Maximize facility throughput by organizing and completing routine maintenance and shutdown work on all plant and equipment
Provide hands-on electrical and technical support to production and other internal functions
Perform PLC fault-finding, programming, and repairs on PLC-controlled machinery in heavy industry/manufacturing environments
Provide plant-wide electrical maintenance services, departmental support, and repairs on various machinery like conveyors, presses, molding machines, and packaging equipment
Manage workflow between shifts, allocate work for weekend shutdowns, and plan electrical work during the week
Supervise on-shift technicians, distribute labor appropriately, and complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimize downtime
Plan and schedule all maintenance aspects of the plastic recycling facility, minimizing disruption and maximizing uptime and availability
Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on various plant and equipment, including conveyors, dryers, balers, low-voltage equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, drives, centrifuges, material handling equipment, extruders, auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, and separation technology
Ensure management of contractors on site, review risk assessments and method statements, and enforce safe working practices
What we're looking for;
Recognized Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification or equivalent Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City and Guilds, etc.)
PLC fault-finding and programming experience
Proven experience working at a high level with material handling equipment
Experienced with conveyors, balers, low voltage equipment, pumps, motors, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical/optical separation, magnetic and eddy current separation technology
Comprehensive practical experience in maintenance within a process industry, preferably in a recycling environment (though not essential)
Enthusiastic and competent problem-solver with a practical approach to engineering problems
Ability to demonstrate analytical approach to investigation and practical ability to resolve engineering problems
Experience with low voltage power systems, control systems, and software (DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC)
Familiarity with CMMS/AMMS systems would be advantageous
