Senior Estimator - Civils bias

£70k - £80k + Car / Allowance + Benefits

I am working exclusively with a Principal Civils Contractor who operate throughout Yorkshire on bulk earthworks remediation and infrastructure schemes up to £15m.

They currently turnover c£30m which only ever slightly fluctuates yearly based on live projects.  They are a contractor who have complete confidence and market knowledge in their chosen field and prioritise profit and sustainability over chasing turnover.

With a stable structure in senior management positions and carrying their own on-site teams to deliver their projects, they have a consistently high level of performance that their clients can trust and can rely on time and time again.

Their success is built on winning negotiated work and through repeat business from industry renowned clients, demonstrating a working relationship built on years of delivering top quality projects on time.

With a culture of trust that has been installed from the very top, my client has a very low staff turnover with employees consisting of experienced workers who have worked with the MD for 10+ years or more, working alongside newer staff who they are developing and incorporating into their company ethos and values.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Estimator with a civils bias to work under their Pre-Contracts Manager on negotiated tenders and to make up a key component of their bid / estimating team.

This role will require a combination of estimating and bid management due to the hands-on nature required by the contractor, a role that is held in high regard by the MD and subsequently comes with a very competitive salary and package with potential progression to take over the department.

Duties will include but not excluded to;

Assisting with quantity take-off for tender preparations

Undertaking site visits to assist with tender preparations

Issuing enquiries through tender stage for materials and sub-contracts

Producing material schedules and sub-contractor BoQs for Operations Teams from successful tenders

Ideal candidate must;

Be computer literate and competent in use of MS Excel and MS Word

Have a working experience of electronic take-off from pdf drawings

5+ years’ experience as an estimator in the UK civil engineering sector

Knowledge and understanding of bid process within the Civil Engineering sector

Degree Qualified or working towards completion
