Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Handsworth, Birmingham, to recruit an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead their SEND hub. Hours - 8:20 am - 4:00pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)
As the HLTA leading the SEND hub, you will work alongside a team of Teaching Assistants (TAs) to provide tailored support to students with a variety of SEND needs. Planning is already in place, so your role will focus on delivering targeted support and ensuring that every child is supported in their learning and personal development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Leading and managing a team of Teaching Assistants within the SEND hub.
· Providing bespoke, high-quality support to children with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and make progress.
· Collaborating with class teachers to ensure learning is differentiated and appropriate for individual needs.
· Supporting the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
· Monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to parents and the senior leadership team.
· Creating a positive, nurturing environment that supports both the academic and emotional needs of SEND students.
· Assisting with behaviour management and promoting social inclusion.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
· A Level 4 qualification as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or equivalent.
· Significant experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a school setting.
· A strong understanding of SEND needs and strategies for supporting students with a range of learning challenges.
· Leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate a team of Teaching Assistants.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
· A proactive, adaptable approach and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students.
