Junior / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Drywall & Interiors
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 + Package

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor specialising in drywall and interior fit-out projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying. Experience in drywall projects would be highly advantageous.

The company has a strong pipeline of projects, with multiple new schemes starting in April and May, including work with Bradford College, Bradford Endoscopy, and Morgan Sindall. Project values range from £2,000 to £7M, with an average project cost of £1.5M and an annual company turnover of £15M. The right candidate can start immediately.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in the commercial management of projects, working closely with senior QSs, project managers, and clients to ensure successful financial delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting in the management of project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.

Supporting the procurement process, subcontractor negotiations, and payment management.

*

Conducting valuations, cost analysis, and risk assessments.

*

Preparing and submitting financial reports and cost forecasts.

*

Managing variations, claims, and final accounts.

*

Ensuring compliance with financial and contractual obligations.

*

Attending project meetings and liaising with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

*

Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

*

Up to 5 years’ experience in a QS role, ideally within drywall or interior fit-out projects.

*

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

*

Good commercial awareness and contract management understanding.

*

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

*

Full UK driving licence.
