About your new role:

Responsibilities for the Estimator:

Researching Costs: Investigate the costs of materials, transportation, labor, and equipment required for projects.
Obtaining Quotes: Secure quotes from suppliers and contractors within specified timeframes to ensure accurate estimations.
Risk Assessment: Assess risk levels associated with each project to inform decision-making processes.
Bid Support: Assist in the preparation of bids for new contracts and provide support to buyers in procurement activities.
Quotation Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed quotations and cost breakdowns for proposed work.
Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs at different stages to ensure adherence to estimated budgets.
Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution. Requirements for the Estimator:

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
A minimum of 3 years experience in an Estimating role within main contracting.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Prior experience in estimating or related field preferred
Proficiency in relevant software and tools
Willingness to undergo training and development to progress to a senior role
