My client in Edinburgh is looking for an Assistant Accountant due to expansion.

My client is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working and people focused individual to join their well-established firm.

Established in the 19th century, my client has an enviable reputation as one of Scotland’s leading independent firms of chartered accountants and business advisers, blending traditional values with a modern approach. The office is located in the city centre of Edinburgh.

My client are looking for an accountant who is working towards their accountancy qualification and is looking for a new challenge. At least two years’ experience is preferred.

This is a non-audit role. Your responsibilities would include:
1. Annual accounts
2. Management accounts
3. Book-keeping
4. Company tax returns
5. VAT returns

You will be required to manage various workflows at the same time and be confident in dealing directly with clients.

As your experience builds you can be given your own portfolio of clients to manage if this is what your preference would be.

My client operate a hybrid approach of working of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home for full time members of staff. Core hours are 10am to 4pm. So you can start earlier or later if you like. My client will also consider part-time staff for this role.

My client also offers study support for ACCA and ICAS.

Knowledge of Quickbooks and Xero preferred but not essential.

Location: Edinburgh

Salary £23k-£40k DOE
