An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assembly Team Leader to join a plastics manufacturing company located in Ripley, Derbyshire. This position will be working Monday to Friday, Days Based supporting the Manufacturing Manager with all aspects of daily production and continuous improvement activities. Located in Ripley, Derbyshire my client is a plastics manufacturing business specialising in homeware solutions. My client has developed trusted brands and capabilities either through acquisition or organic growth and is now looking to recruit an Assembly Team Leader due to expansion.

Key Responsibilities

The Assembly Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assembly team, ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing team members, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of assembly workers to achieve production goals.
Provide training, mentoring, and support to team members.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals, safety updates, and other important information.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Production Management:
Plan and organize daily assembly tasks to ensure timely completion of production schedules.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Coordinate with the Production Manager to address any issues that may impact production, such as equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
Ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment.
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
Encourage and support team members in suggesting and implementing process improvements.
Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.

Key Requirements

To apply for Assembly Team Leader position in Ripley you will ideally have 5+ years Team Leader or Supervisory experience with the ability to drive manufacturing improvements.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proficiency understanding of assembly processes and quality control standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Familiarity with H&S workplace regulations and best practices.

Key Benefits Package

Salary £38,000 to £43,000.
