About the Role - BSL Teaching Assistant - Newham
Support children with hearing impairments, helping them engage in lessons and classroom activities.
Assist in small groups or 1:1, ensuring students with hearing impairments can participate fully in their academic studies.
Provide motivation and encouragement to help students become independent learners.
Liaise with the class teacher, sharing student progress and discussing support strategies.
Create a safe, nurturing environment where students feel confident and supported.
Work closely with students to ensure they have access to the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.Ideal Candidate - BSL Teaching Assistant - Newham
British Sign Language (BSL) qualification Level 2 minimum.
Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Passionate about working with children in the deaf community.
Ability to promote independence and support the development of social skills.
Enhanced DBS check.
