Role of the Project Manager

* Managing of projects from Initial enquiry through to production whilst managing the NPI process

* Following and helping to maintain design, operational and quality procedures

* Liaising with internal departments such as, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Assembly. -Liaising with external suppliers.

* Communication of customer requirements to manufacturing through the use of Work Instructions, Carepoints, Gauge Instructions, Packing Instructions and other documents in the Production Process etc

* Initiate project launch/ handover to manufacturing

* Involvement in RFQ and first sight feasibility analysis

* Establish regular design reviews with cross-functional teams

* In-depth working knowledge of APQP

* Manage the Bill of Materials for components

* Knowledge of FMEA’s/ Control Plans/ Process flow

* Drive continuous improvement/ lean projects

* Focus on cost, quality and lean manufacturing principles

* Strong understanding manufacturing processes.

* Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
