Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Portsmouth, UK

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum + Car Allowance

About Us:

We are a prominent M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. Our expertise spans a variety of sectors, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial management of large-scale M&E projects from inception to completion.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.

Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiation.

Manage project costs, ensuring all financial targets are met or exceeded.

Provide expert advice on contract variations, valuations, and final accounts.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.

Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating any financial risks.

Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors within the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Requirements:

Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in M&E construction projects.

In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and financial management.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Full UK driving license.
