Science Teacher - Southampton - January 2025 start
Academics are recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding, small independent school in Southampton which caters for girls aged 9-19 years with severe or complex behavioural, emotional, social or mental health difficulties.
They are looking for a committed and nurturing Science Teacher based in Southampton to join them in January 2025 on a full-time, on-going contract with the opportunity of a permanent contract for the right person.
They will consider a fully qualified Science Teacher or someone at Cover Supervisor level who can teach Science and may like to extend their knowledge and gain QTS via the apprenticeship route.
Due to the varied learning levels, this role would be suitable for either a primary or secondary trained teacher. The school currently has 23 girls on roll who predominantly live in the schools residential homes. Due to this, the class sizes are small and you have support staff who are their to provide assistance on a small group and 1:1 basis.

The role is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference and work in a setting which is different from a mainstream secondary school.
The are looking for a Science Teacher based in Southampton who is strong, has the ability to build positive relationships, be able to think on their feet and deliver engaging and exciting Science lessons. This can be a re-active environment so the ideal Science Teacher would have worked in a similar setting, with children/young adults with challenging behaviours.
Working hours are 8am-4.30pm and 8am-4pm on Fridays, term time only. The rate of pay will vary dependent on your pay scale.
