Howdens Joinery have an opportunity in our Digital Trading team for a new Technical SEO Executive.

A pivotal role in improving the organic visibility of the Howdens website, ensuring that it is effectively optimised for search and meets both on-page and off-page SEO best practices.

This role will also include working with internal and external teams to ensure that the website's technical development is carried out in accordance with best practices and supports the delivery of organic visibility and traffic growth.

A full time, permanent opportunity based at our office in Raunds, Northamptonshire. You will be required onsite at least 3 days per week. Travel to other sites and suppliers will be required on an ad hoc basis with overnight stays as necessary.

What will I be doing as a Technical SEO Executive?

• Coordinate local technical investigations, such as crawls of the website and investigating Google Search Console reports, with the services provided by the SME.
• Monitoring Google Search Console to ensure that the website is being crawled and indexed effectively.
• Reporting on SEO performance, including visibility, traffic, share of market, share of voice and technical performance considerations.
• Management and implementation of 301 redirects.
• Monitoring and investigating 404 errors, working with merchandisers and content team to address issues.
• Working with external suppliers on everything SEO.
• Working closely with our internal & external software development teams to ensure that technical SEO requirements are accurately documented in our DevOps management environment.
• Management of local SEO implementation, including on page optimisation and maintenance of local business data.
• Working with development teams to ensure that technical SEO requirements are accurately described and explained.
• Build strong working relationships with external suppliers to help drive performance.

What we need from you.
• At least 1-years’ experience in an SEO role with technical responsibilities or a digital development/software/Infrastructure role with an interest in technical SEO.
• Able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of technical SEO theory and best practice.
• Good working knowledge of SEO / Digital tools and platforms such as Screaming Frog, AHREFs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Akami
• Understanding of how SEO fits within a wider digital strategy and the importance of ensuring SEO is embedded within the approach in other teams, e.g. development, product data
• Effective written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate SEO requirements in relatable language
• Experience working with developers to implement technical SEO changes
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
• Applications with digital marketing qualification are preferred
• Candidates with any experience or exposure to Sitecore CMS is advantageous
