Our client, a specialist roofing contractor, based in Manchester are currently looking to expand their commercial division, meaning there is a new opening for an Estimator. This company are well-established, with a healthy pipeline of projects lined up for the future. They are offering a starting salary circa £45,000 - £55,000, projects across the UK, predominately within the North West region. Site travels will be diary dependent.

This role will be office based for the first 3 months with flexibility available after this time period.

Estimator Job Overview

Analyse Enquiry Documentation

Review client requirements, scope of works, Bills of Quantities, specifications, and drawings to understand project scope.Conduct Site Visits

Verify and collect dimensional and logistical information for refurbishment projects.Prepare Detailed Estimates

Determine material, labour, plant, and access requirements to complete the project in line with enquiry documents.Collaborate and Communicate

Work with subcontractors, obtaining quotes and negotiating competitive pricing.
Liaise with the Contracts Department to ensure a smooth project handover.Risk Management

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Submit Competitive Bids

Produce high-quality, accurate, and compliant tender submissions within deadlines.Post-Project Evaluation

Participate in reflection meetings to improve future estimating processes.

Estimator Job Requirements

Must be within commutable distance of Manchester
Must have experience as an Estimator in a similar position
Roofing experience / roofing knowledge
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Broad technical knowledge.
Self-motivated and results driven attitude.
Ability to work independently
Strong organisational and planning skills.
