Salary: £100 - £120 per day
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

GSL Education are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Technician to join a popular and high-achievingSecondary School in South Manchester to start in September 2024 on a full-time, permanent contract.

will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality music education, assisting both staff and students with technical expertise and ensuring the smooth operation of our music facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to the music department, including setting up and operating audio-visual and recording equipment for lessons, rehearsals, and performances
Maintain and manage music technology resources, including computers, software (DAWs), audio equipment, and musical instruments
Assist students and staff with the use of music technology during lessons and extracurricular activities
Organise and manage the setup for school concerts, productions, and external events
Perform routine maintenance on instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order
Keep up to date with new developments in music technology and suggest improvements to existing systems
Assist with the cataloging, storage, and management of music resources
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in relation to music equipment and facilities
Requirements:

A relevant qualification in Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or a related field
Experience working in a similar technical support role, ideally within an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
Have a strong technical understanding of music technology and audio-visual equipment
Have experience in a school setting or similar environment 
Have the right to work in the UK
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
