Section Engineer - Highway Project

A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Section Engineer to join our team working on a major highway project. This challenging and rewarding role will involve providing technical expertise and leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of a critical section of this vital infrastructure project.

About the Role:

As Section Engineer, you will work closely with the Site Manager and other project team members, providing technical guidance and leadership within your designated area. Your key responsibilities will include:

Technical Oversight: Providing technical expertise and oversight for all construction activities within your assigned section, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and design requirements.
Setting Out & Surveying: Accurately establishing control points, setting out lines, levels, and grades, ensuring the precise alignment and construction of all elements within your section.
Quality Control: Implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of workmanship and complies with project specifications.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving technical challenges that arise during construction, providing solutions to ensure the project stays on track.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of construction activities, including drawings, calculations, and reports, specifically within your designated section.
Coordination: Working closely with other site personnel, supervisors, and contractors within your assigned section, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Team Management: Providing guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians working within your section.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven Experience: You possess experience as a Section Engineer or similar role in the highways sector, with a proven track record of working on complex civil engineering projects.
Technical Expertise: You have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials related to highways, including excavation, foundations, drainage, and roadworks.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: You are a strong problem solver, able to think critically and find practical solutions to technical challenges.
Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in using surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and other relevant technical applications.
Communication Skills: You are an effective communicator, able to clearly convey technical information to the site team, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Leadership Skills: You have a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a positive and productive work environment.To Apply:
