ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer     

LOCATION – Winchester (Hybrid)    

TERM - Permanent    

SALARY- £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience    

My client is a specialist manufacturer in Green Technology industries. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their small team in Winchester on a permanent basis.    

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
Degree (BSc / BEng) qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
At least 2 years' industry experience
Proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD software- ideally Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar 
Have a good understanding of design for sheet metal/fabrication
Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Be keen to develop with a company long term
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Working on full lifecycle design projects 
Designing and developing new products 
Working within the current engineering team
Producing engineering documents in line with contracts and projects
Producing both 2D and 3D assemblies
Liaising with customers and suppliers on any contract issues and ensuring that all design and manufacturing processes run to schedule
Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
