Electrical Consulting Engineer (BESS) - Manchester

My client is a leading technical consultancy whose aim is to facilitate the investment and delivery of energy infrastructure projects across the UK to positively influence the energy transition.

They require a consulting engineer from a battery energy storage systems background to join the business on a permanent basis.

Requirements:

An electrical project engineer with 8 years’ experience in the following:

* Significant technical knowledge, post qualification, in the following battery energy storage system (BESS) sub[1]systems: battery module, containerised and rack systems, HV and MV switchgear, battery controllers, cooling systems and fire detection/suppression systems.

* Project management of battery technologies and storage systems (BESS) for commercial application.

* Experience with the application of relevant IEC standards, NFPA 855, UL9540A, or any other industry standards in BESS project design.

* Experience with both DNO and transmission level grid connections

* Experience with the commissioning, performance testing, and take-over of a BESS system.

* Dealing effectively and professionally with external and internal clients, attending meetings etc.

* Prior experience with the use of electrical engineering software.

* The undertaking of feasibility and design reviews.

* Witnessing of both site and factory acceptance testing.

* Ability to assess manufactured or fabricated items for faults.

* The provision of site-based construction monitoring.

* Able to work as part of a wider engineering team and also to operate autonomously as required.

* 60k per annum.
