Job Title: Site Supervisor
Carrington West are pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity with one of our clients, a leading contractor within the highways sector.
We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join our client's team, delivering crucial civil engineering and highways projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of construction activities, in line with health and safety regulations and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
·Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the workforce, public, and self in line with SHE processes.
·Administer construction works in accordance with contract requirements.
·Assist with the implementation of Principal Contractor duties under CDM regulations.
·Oversee the compliance of the Construction Phase Plan, including site inductions and rules.
·Perform pre-start checks, ensuring equipment (PUWER/LOLER), welfare, and spill kits are compliant.
·Support the development and adherence to Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work, and Point of Work Risk Assessments.
·Ensure temporary works are installed as per approved designs.
·Conduct regular health and safety inspections, report accidents and near-misses, and deliver toolbox talks.
·Monitor site progress, report issues, and ensure compliance with the project programme.
·Maintain accurate records of workforce, materials, and plant.
·Effectively communicate changes, ensuring sign-off and briefings in line with change control procedures.
·Inspect and ensure work quality in accordance with the Inspection Test Plan, designs, and specifications.
Key Requirements:
·SSSTS (CITB Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
·NRSWA Supervisor accreditation
·12D Lantra Traffic Management certification
·Temporary Works Supervisor certification
·First Aid certification
·Full, clean driving licence
Skills and Experience:
·Strong background in managing civil engineering contractors and direct employees.
·Proficient in MS Office and order management databases.
·Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
·Experience engaging with the public, clients, and stakeholders.
·Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
·Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
