Support Worker

Location: Wellington, Somerset, TA21
Salary: £12.00 per hour (£23,400 per year, pro rata) plus Benefits 
Hours: up to 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis

We are on the lookout for Female Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love. If you are looking to make a real difference, Fiennes House is the place for you!
Furthermore, as Support Worker you will be responsible for: 

Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities 
Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s valuesWe are looking for someone who can devote to 30 hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Who will you be supporting?
At Fiennes House we support 12 adults with a range of disabilities including learning and physical disabilities, sight loss, complex health conditions including epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism. 
People at Wellington location are a very active group who enjoy going out for fun activities such as day trips to the seaside or to music concerts, bowling, and discos. They also watch movies, love cooking/baking (and tasting the end result!), gardening for the lovely smells from the herbs and flowers, foot spa and pamper sessions, sensory sessions and stories.
They also enjoy the comfort of their own home, each bedroom has a fully accessible ensuite bathroom, we also have a separate jacuzzi bath.

Responsibilities

Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
Develop and contribute to the maintenance of  records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
