School Caretaker (Facilities Assistant)

The School and Role

Vision for Education are supporting an East Riding Secondary School in recruiting for a temporary School Caretaker. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Caretaker, Facilities Assistant or an idividual with excellent practical skills. Working as part of a team of four facilities staff, you will contribute greatly to the day to day running of the large school site, no day is ever the same! The successful School Caretaker will report into the Facilities Manager and will be repsonsible for a number of duties including locking/unlocking site buildings, arming/disarming alarms, ground patrols, removing litter and grafitti, maintaining school and sports facilities. The sucessful caretaker will work on a shift rota, to accommodate schools facitlies being open into the evening. Examples of shifts would be 7am until 2pm and 2pm to 8pm. 

The Secondary School is based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, approximately six miles to the west of Hull City Centre. This large school site forms the heartbeat of its local community. Workings a caretaker you will form part of an experienced and supportive Facilities Team.  

This is an open ended temporary role set to intially run January 2024. It is possible that the supply contract via Vision may be extended into the next callender year. The school are looking for the successful candidate to start in role ASAP.

Requirements

Experience in Caretaker, Maintenance or skilled practical role 

Proactive, strong worth ethic

Ability to work as part of a team, forging strong relationships with colleagues and service users.
