Description
We are recruiting a pivotal Team Manager for Adults & Children Services. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing a team, including the staff's performance management and professional development. Your responsibilities will include establishing regular individual and group supervision arrangements, mentoring, setting and monitoring targets and objectives, and balancing this with skills development and ongoing training.
Responsibilities
You will motivate, nurture, and manage a team (social workers and unqualified staff) to deliver daily outcomes for Adult & Children's Social Care Services. Ensure the service is adequate, produces the required outcomes, and deals with cases promptly. You will ensure that our policies, procedures, and relevant legislation adequately protect children and young people.
Qualification – Essential
* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
* Dip SW. CQSW. CSS or CCETSW or equivalent experience
* Social Work England (SWE) Registration
* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting.
* Proven operational experience in social work, ideally as a senior practitioner or small team leader/supervisor.
* Demonstrating relevant theoretical social work concepts, practices, and detailed organisational knowledge related to providing a professional social work service.
* Experience in dealing with significant issues, managing complex child protection matters, staff underperformance, and managing resources to address team performance priorities through allocating limited resources.
* Ability to influence and negotiate partner relationships at the management level.
* Must understand the need for emotional intelligence and resilience, specifically with risk, ensuring a positive balance between perceived risk and protection from harm where necessary. These qualities are crucial in this role and will make a significant difference in the lives of the children and young people we serve.
* Ability to provide direction and motivate and inspire the team to deliver quality professional practice.
* Experience managing a small budget and contributing to financially related decisions on more significant spending.
* Demonstrable knowledge of how to improve practice and performance in a supportive, positive way.
* Able to manage performance and provide quality assurance, ensuring team contribution to children and young people.
* Able to provide professional leadership in situations of complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge.
* Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and partners to improve outcomes for children and young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both orally and in writing promoting the service area positively and professionally.
* Must contribute to developing and shaping future team or group service provision.
