About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated ICT Teacher to join our team at a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) short stay school in Burton-on-Trent. This long-term role will commence in January 2024 and is offered on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for delivering ICT lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students who are working with complex needs and may present with challenging behaviour.

As an ICT Teacher in our PRU, you will have a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality, engaging, and differentiated teaching, whilst also fostering a positive learning environment. You will be expected to plan, deliver, and assess ICT lessons, managing behaviour effectively and using creative strategies to meet the individual needs of each student. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for working with vulnerable students, who is able to inspire and engage learners in both practical and theoretical ICT lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ICT lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students, tailored to their individual learning needs.
Develop and implement appropriate strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress.
Manage and monitor student attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with other teaching staff and support staff to create an inclusive and safe learning environment.
Contribute to the development of the ICT curriculum and resources.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching ICT to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Strong knowledge of the ICT curriculum and the ability to deliver lessons that are both engaging and relevant.
Previous experience working in a PRU or with students who display challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to managing behaviour and promoting positive learning experiences.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
