About the role:

Working as Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) across Hawley Woods School (Hampshire) and Fernways School (Surrey), you will play a vital role in enhancing the communication skills and overall wellbeing of our students, helping them to achieve their full potential.

You will be an integral part of our growing team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will be working with our pupils, supporting the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children and young pupils with a range of needs Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN) and complex needs associated with additional learning needs and ASC.

You will manage your own caseload and work flexibly, providing therapy services to children and young pupils according to clinical need and in close liaison with the highly specialist clinical team covering both schools.

You will participate actively in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training and annual appraisals. Working in collaboration with other Speech and Language Therapists and clinical team colleagues you will support the development of Speech and Language Therapy services across Kedleston Group. Clinical supervision will be provided by internal Senior Speech and Language Therapists or funded externally.

About you:

You will have:

* a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent

* UK HCPC Registration, and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

* successful post registration practice and experience with young people (ideally experience of working with children with ASC needs)

* working knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding Legislation and other legislation.

Hawley Woods School is a brand new, vibrant independent specialist day school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students who are neurodivergent with diverse Speech and Language and Communication needs (SLCN). Our dedicated team works collaboratively to foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our warm and nurturing school will support up to 90 children and young people across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4 in small classes of 6 pupils (age 7 to 17 years).

Fernways School is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that specialises in catering to the unique needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated needs. Our commitment to fostering a supportive community ensures that both students and staff wellbeing are at the forefront of our mission. We believe in the power of a growth mindset and actively promote professional development for our staff, empowering them to reach their full potential while providing the best possible education for our students. We currently cater for up to 50 students from KS2 to KS4.
