Facilities Manager - As Soon As Possible

Tempest Resourcing is collaborating with a secondary school in Hackney that is seeking a Facilities Manager to join their team. This position is temporary with the potential for permanent employment, and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

Manage the daily operations and maintenance of school buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe learning environment.
Schedule and supervise routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections for all school facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and optimising resource allocation.
Lead and manage the facilities team, providing training and performance evaluations.
Ensure all facilities meet local council, and government safety standards; conduct regular safety inspections and implement necessary improvements.
Develop and implement emergency plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols and disaster recovery strategies.
Liaise with school leadership, staff, and the community to address facilities-related needs and enhance overall school operations.Required skills and experience

Experience in facilities management or a related field, preferably in an educational setting.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of maintenance and facilities staff effectively.
Experience in managing budgets, forecasting expenses, and optimising resource allocation.
Ability to oversee multiple projects at once, ensuring timely completion within budget.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and external contractors.
Familiarity with building maintenance systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and grounds keeping.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage facilities operations and maintenance schedules.Benefits
