Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of the Learner Engagement Officer is to enhance and facilitate the engagement, retention, and success of learners within the organisation. This role is crucial in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and continuous development. The Learner Engagement Officer will develop and implement strategies to foster strong relationships with learners, identify and address barriers to engagement, and promote a culture of lifelong learning. By working closely with learners, educators, and stakeholders, the Learner Engagement Officer will contribute to the overall effectiveness and success of educational programs and initiatives.
Requirements of the Role
* Attract candidates to the many learning opportunities we have on offer and evaluate their suitability for our programmes
* Drive the conversion of prospective learners onto programmes
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the career development of learners
* Offer high-quality information advice and guidance
* Form and harness key relationships in the region with organisations that can contribute to the referral of candidates to our programmes and the opportunities we have for them
* Ensure quality and accuracy in the completion of required documentation, processes, and systems
* Deliver “Applicant Days” and conduct an initial assessment of applicants.
* “Match and Fill” candidates to employment opportunities.
* Maintain regular communication with learners through various channels to keep them informed and engaged.
* Ensure high-quality candidates are placed quickly, always supporting both the candidates and employers.
* Attend networking events, both online and in-person, as needed. When opportunities arise, deliver keynote presentations and engage with influencers, with the clear objective of raising and managing the company profile.
* Organise and participate in recruitment events, open houses, and information sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Knowledge of funding streams for WMCA, Bootcamps, and Advanced Learner Loans
* Ability to network and build new connections
* 1-2 years of experience in the similar field
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, can communicate highly complex information that may be difficult to understand to internal and external stakeholders and make presentations to internal and external groups on a regular basis
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate concerns, and complex/contentious issues in a diplomatic manner that does not offend or escalate
* Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them.
* Proficiency in developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract new learners.
* Ability to deal with changing priorities, work under pressure, work to tight deadlines and be flexible.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels across the Company and with external stakeholders and committed to teamwork
* Good standard of numeracy
* Experience in working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
