Job Title: Assistant Headteacher (Science Specialism preferable) 
Location: Prenton 
Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 per annum (dependent on experience) 
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role: 
Simply Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Headteacher with prior experience in leading or delivering Science at GCSE level. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small provision in Prenton that caters to young people aged 11-14 who have faced challenges in their educational journey. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in re-engaging students with their education and helping them build confidence and self-esteem. 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Lead the Science curriculum delivery at GCSE level, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. 

- Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership of the provision, contributing to the strategic direction and development of the school. 

- To have the ability to confidently lead a small staff team, ensuring that high expectations and outcomes are promoted across the school. 

- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that encourages students to develop better coping strategies and understand their emotions. 

About the Provision: 
The school provides a highly personalized learning environment, with a maximum capacity of 32 students and currently has 22 students enrolled. Students work in small groups, with class sizes ranging from 3 to 5 pupils, ensuring a high staff-to-pupil ratio and a bespoke learning approach. The provision also offers opportunities for students to gain vocational qualifications in areas such as beauty and hairdressing, as well as life skills through various activities. The school recognises the importance of ensuring that students wellbeing is fully supported the school’s curriculum reflects that students’ pastoral needs by ensuring that there is opportunity to develop the self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience. Our students can have challenging behaviours at times, so we are seeking an Assistant Head that has strong behaviour management skills and a clear and consistent approach established within the school. The ability to look past this behaviour and really get to know out students is vital for the role.  

Successful Assistant Headteachers requirements include: 

- Proven experience in leading or delivering Science at GCSE level. 

- Prior senior leadership experience is desirable but not essential. 

- A commitment to making a positive impact on students' educational and emotional development. 

- Ability to start immediately or within a short notice period is highly desirable.
