Male Community Support Worker

Our incredible adult services team are looking for a male support worker to support two wonderful gentlemen living in the Muscliffe area.

Due to the needs of these people we support, we can only consider applications from male candidates for this post, with experience with Autism or Complex Care, supporting people on a 2:1 basis.

The role

The people we support have their unique way of communicating, whether this be PECs boards, signalong or through repeating specific phrases. If you’ve not used signalong previously we have training available!

As a Support Worker, your role will be to provide consistent care and support for Mike. Mike has limited vocabulary and repeat phrases, so providing a routine is key, along with setting firm boundaries.

Mike enjoys spending time in the garden, using his sensory room and toys, as well as going for long walks, cycling, and having bbq's.

At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the person we support, and ensuring we have a relaxed, empathetic and encouraging team working with us helps us achieve this aim.

Hours of work

Week 1 – Saturday - 4pm - 10pm and Sunday – 4pm to 10pm

Week 2 – Monday - 4pm - 10pm, Saturday - 8am – 4pm and Sunday - 8am - 4pm

A support workers day would include:

* Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community

* Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication

* Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour

* Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication

We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part time hours available to suit your needs. To support Jake’s package the hours would ideally be within 8am - 4pm or 4pm - 10pm with one sleep in a week between Monday – Sunday.
