Job Summary:

Cover Supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations.

Role and Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:

Cover Supervisors manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. They ensure that students are engaged in learning activities, maintain discipline, and uphold the school's behaviour policies.
They deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher. While they may not be responsible for teaching new content or providing instruction, they facilitate learning by guiding students through activities, answering questions, and help as needed.
They oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring that students stay on task and complete assigned activities. They may provide support and encouragement to students who require assistance, while also monitoring behaviour and managing any disruptions.
They ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements and Skills of Cover Supervisor:

Previous working experience as a Cover Supervisor within an educational setting.
Relevant qualifications or training in Education, Childcare, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioural challenges.
Passionate about supporting the learning and development of student and making a positive difference in their lives.
