W Talent are now supporting a manufacturing company located in Wombwell, Barnsley who are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join the Team.

Key Responsibilities

As the Quality Engineer you will be based at the Barnsley manufacturing site where you will manage a team of two inspectors reporting directly to the Group Quality Manager. Your primary focus will consist of managing daily quality concerns, implementing new procedures, and improving overall quality standards.

You will collaborate with suppliers including documentation control for new products so ideally you be a Quality Engineer looking for progression or Quality Manager looking to take a step back in your career. Additionally, to the above you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout the production and delivery processes.

Key Duties

Manage, train and develop a team of quality inspectors.
Conduct supplier audits and ensure adherence to specifications and requirements.
Establish and maintain quality standards across the Barnsley manufacturing plant.
Inspection before despatch to verify the quality of product leaving site.
Manage and maintain quality management systems and documentation to ensure full compliance to ISO9001.
Read and check engineering drawings, specifications, and quality records ensuring accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.
Ensure accurate understanding of product requirements and specifications, with suppliers and internal teams.
Investigate quality issues and non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications and Skills

To apply for this exciting Quality Engineer vacancy located in Wombwell, Barnsley you will need to have some manufacturing or engineering background within a quality function.

Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering or quality assurance discipline
Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9001.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Experience with root cause analysis techniques and corrective action implementation.

Location and Benefits:

This position will be working days, Monday to Friday, days based with a salary between £35,000 and £45,000. You will have clear opportunities for career development and flexible working when required
