Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs? An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Junior school in Burton-on-Trent, working within a Year 5 class.
Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Start Date: 5th November 2024
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children in a Year 5 as a general class teaching assistant but will also be supporting any children within the class with SEND, providing them with the support and encouragement they need to thrive. You will assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities, promoting social interaction, and providing individualised care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one support to children with complex needs
- Assisting in the implementation of Individual Care Plans
- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to meet the needs of all students
- Supporting students with personal care, if required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly in KS2
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and interventions
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support (desirable)
- Must have own transport due to travel between a SEND provision and the Primary School
