Business Support Officer – Barnsley
Multitask Personnel is recruiting for a Business Support Officer to work with a local authority client based in Barnsley. This role supports the Adoption & Fostering Services, involving interaction with internal and external stakeholders, minuting face-to-face meetings with potential foster carers and adoptive parents.
Details:
Contract: 2 months fixed-term (starting 21/10)
Pay rate: £12.18 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Location: Barnsley
Requirements: Basic DBS required
Key Responsibilities:
Handle enquiries (phone and face-to-face), offering advice, guidance, and support.
Triage and direct referrals, ensuring timely responses and excellent customer service.
Process requests for services, adhering to guidelines and confirming outcomes to customers.
Maintain accurate and confidential records on both paper and computer-based systems.
Organise and support statutory meetings, producing accurate minutes and action schedules.
Perform financial administration tasks, including raising orders and reconciling payments.
Administer petty cash and ensure proper reconciliation in line with financial regulations.
Liaise with managers, employees, and the public to maintain strong communication.
Stay updated on relevant legislation and policies affecting service delivery.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Level 2 qualification or equivalent (e.g., 4 GCSEs A*-C).
Experience:
Working in a business support environment.
Handling sensitive and confidential information.
Financial administration experience.
Taking minutes quickly and accurately on mobile devices.
