Purpose of the Senior Quality Engineer

As part of the Quality Assurance activities in the business, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quality Engineer, reporting to the Quality Manager.

Located in the North East, this role will involve supporting all Quality Assurance activities, you will be responsible for the maintenance of quality systems, standards and customer PPM performance. The person that is recruited for this role will therefore need to be a self-motivated, proactive thinker and possess excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills to make a major contribution towards the quality assurance activities of the business.

The person that is recruited for this role will make a significant contribution towards the improved performance of all products. This will involve working closely with major suppliers & other project team members within the organisation.

Main responsibilities of the Senior Quality Engineer

- Manage the QRQC activity & related PPM reduction in line with business activity plan targets.
- Provide a key customer liaison to communicate concern countermeasures in agreed timescales.
- Co-ordinate the daily scheduled workload of the QA department (including audits, calibration and concern investigation).
- Stand in for the QA Manager, when required.
- Ensure ANPQP/IATF16949 documentation and standards are up to date and adhered to.
- Co-ordinate QA training plans to support QA improvement activities.
- Manage the QA support of continuous improvement activities such as kaizen and PHA
- Support process change activities to ensure the companies change control procedure is followed.
- Coordinate the monitoring and improvement of supplied part quality performance.
- Support the new launch related activities, such as SOP ramp up activities, EPMS Management, Shipment Judgement Meetings, etc

Requirements of the Senior Quality Engineer

EDUCATION (SCHOOL/SPECIALISATION): Ideally Qualified to minimum of HNC level in an appropriate discipline or equivalent level of experience.

LANGUAGES: English fluent, additional language is preferred

Experience of the Senior Quality Engineer

• Ideally has experience within a similar role, gained in a fast moving, automotive manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated, proactive thinker and possess excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
• Excellent understanding of all aspects of ANPQP management and the IATF16949 systems and processes that support this.
• 5 years high volume manufacturing experience
• Work effectively as part of a team
• Good IT Skills (Microsoft Applications)
