SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Summary
NextGen are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students, particularly those with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs.

Roles

Support students with their learning activities
Supervise students during class and other school activities, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
Foster positive relationships with studentsExperience

Previous experience working with children with SEMH is preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
Basic knowledge of educational practices or child development principles is advantageous.
