Our client, a leader within the Defence and Aerospace sector, are currently seeking a Material Controller to join their team in Essex on a 6 Month contract (fully on-site).

This exciting role within the Defence and Aerospace sector in the Essex area, involves overseeing the flow of materials within a production environment to ensure they align with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Key Responsibilities:

Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area
Maintaining traceability of all materials and finished goods produced
Contributing to the creation and updating of the Master Production Schedule
Organising the return to vendors of faulty or incorrect materials
Working with engineers to maintain build standard integrity
Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities
Ensuring material availability in line with the Master Production Schedule
Creating shipping documentation and booking UK and export shipments via freight forwarders/couriers
Organising the processing of customer repairs
Monitoring shelf-life products and controlling Government-furnished assets
Liaising with external suppliers and customers
Managing inventory and resolving SAP system issues

Job Requirements:

Experience in materials control and planning
Computer literacy, especially with MS Excel and company IT systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers, and subject matter experts
Accurate planning skills
Currently SC cleared or ability to obtain SC clearance

Desirable Skills:

Certification to use a forklift, reach truck, pallet stacker truck, or MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)
