SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time
Location: Leicester
Salary: £90-£100 per day

Aspire People are excited to partner with a fantastic SEN school in Leicester to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with children with special educational needs (SEN) across primary year groups, as well as occasional support in the Sixth Form department. Role Overview:
In this position, you will provide tailored support for children with special educational needs, working predominantly in the primary phase but with the potential to support older students in the Sixth Form as needed. Some of the children you'll work with have severe learning needs, and your role will be crucial in helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the learning and development of children with special educational needs in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
Support children with severe learning difficulties, offering personal care when required.
Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students' needs are met.
Help foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
Occasionally work with students in the Sixth Form department who have more complex SEN needs.
Support the wider school team in promoting the well-being and inclusion of all students.
Participate in training and professional development to enhance your SEN knowledge and skills.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs within a UK school setting (primary and/or secondary).
Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine interest in working with children who have varying needs.
Strong communication skills, both with students and staff.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
A flexible approach, able to adapt to different classroom settings and students' needs.
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
