Derby Office (with hybrid working available). Initial scheme based in Nottinghamshire.
Job Summary:
This client is a water sector solution provider that operates across many regions in the UK. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Delivery team, to report into the Senior Project Manager. The successful Project Manager will manage the design, construction, commissioning, and completion of contracts, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget, while upholding health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote exceptional safety standards and quality delivery across direct and subcontracted workforces.
Ensure the implementation of the Business Management System (BMS) throughout the project lifecycle, from tender handover to final completion.
Maintain strong client relationships and uphold the company's reputation with joint venture partners and suppliers.
Ensure the availability of trained personnel and communicate their responsibilities.
Plan and oversee project execution, including reviewing and approving Project Execution Plans (PEP), and monitoring project progress.
Ensure construction plans and method statements are detailed, approved, and implemented prior to activity commencement.
At contract completion, ensure all project records are completed as per the PEP.
Report non-conformities and associated costs throughout the project.
Manage all commercial aspects of the project, providing accurate forecasts and estimates in a timely and proactive manner.
Apply detailed knowledge of project management practices, from project conception to end-user acceptance.
Engage in continuous professional development through networking, conferences, and industry groups.
Present a professional image in all internal and external interactions and foster positive relationships.
Understand and implement quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
Maintain practical knowledge of technical disciplines associated with water and wastewater design and build projects.The Project Manager will require:
Essential:
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally in the water industry.
Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering-related disciplines.
Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders.
Delivery-driven mindset with the ability to lead and motivate teams to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE.
Ability to present at governance reviews.
Risk and opportunity management experience.
Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
Flexibility and willingness to travel between office and project sites as required.Desirable:
Experience working on water and wastewater treatment plants.
Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
NEC Project Manager Accreditation.Benefits:
