Merrifield Consultants are working with an international charity based in Birmingham to find a Senior Receivables Officer to lead the receivables team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of income and maintaining robust financial controls. This is a key role in the Finance team, supporting the wider organisation with high-quality financial reporting and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
Leading and managing the receivables team, ensuring smooth operations across multiple entities
Producing timely and accurate bank reconciliations, income uploads, and rental invoicing
Developing and optimising financial processes, including automated reporting using UNIT 4 & Excelerator
Providing regular financial reports to senior stakeholders to support decision-making
Assisting with statutory audits and responding to audit queries
Liaising with fundraising teams to ensure income is correctly captured and allocated
Delivering training for new finance staff and colleagues across departments on income
platforms
Skills and Experience:
Strong experience in accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team
Excellent knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., UNIT 4, Excelerator)
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and engage with key stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement
Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector (desirable but not essential)
