We are seeking an experienced and motivated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality education and support across a range of learners. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging and effective learning experiences for learners at various levels (Entry 1 to Level 2). You will use your expertise to help students achieve their goals and ensure that all course delivery meets academic and funding standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments to understand learners' needs, using the results to plan and deliver innovative and effective learning that challenges and inspires students.
* Deliver high-quality Functional Skills provision to diverse learner groups, ensuring all academic and funding criteria are met.
* Set clear learning objectives and involve learners in the planning, review, and evaluation of their own progress.
* Regularly monitor the effectiveness of teaching and learning, using individual learning plans to track progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure learner success.
* Provide advice and guidance to learners on their progression routes and assist with pre-programme information and entry criteria.
* Create and adapt teaching materials to ensure they are relevant, motivational, and cater to learners’ needs.
Candidate Must Have:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE).
* Proven experience of delivering engaging learning activities within the employment and skills sector.
* Experience meeting challenging contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets.
* An understanding of the local labour market, sector skills gaps, and available support networks for learners.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time and workload effectively.
* High-level communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £26,000 to £28,000
