About the Role
As Deputy Home Manager, you'll support the Home Manager in delivering high-quality nursing care, overseeing staff, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. You'll work closely with nursing and care staff to maintain a responsive, compassionate, and effective care service for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
* Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff.
* Assist with care planning, assessments, and use evidence-based tools to ensure resident needs are met.
* Act as an advisor on clinical practices and protocols, ensuring all nurses are equipped to provide high-quality care.
Management
* Support daily operations and manage the home in the Manager’s absence.
* Assist with staff recruitment, retention, and scheduling.
* Take part in disciplinary and investigation processes as required.
Professional Standards
* Follow NMC Code of Conduct and maintain current registration.
* Ensure nursing staff adhere to ethical and professional standards, including documentation, accountability, and care quality.
Communication
* Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, residents, and families.
* Hold regular meetings to update the team on clinical standards and quality practices.
* Support a positive environment through respectful and clear communication.
Care Planning
* Conduct assessments for new residents and create short-term care plans.
* Regularly review and update care plans to reflect residents’ evolving needs.
* Work collaboratively with health and social care professionals to support residents’ care plans.
Privacy & Dignity
* Ensure residents’ privacy and dignity are upheld in all care plans and interactions.
* Support a culture of respect for residents' individual beliefs, choices, and backgrounds.
Training & Development
* Facilitate training and orientation for new nurses.
* Oversee supervision and appraisals, identifying training needs to ensure high-quality care and adherence to NMC standards.
* Participate in home inspections and implement improvements from audit findings
