MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Washington, who are looking to recruit a new Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician from an Armed Forces background, to their growing organisation. The successful candidate would be working as a key part of the Engineering team, preferably with an electrical bias, ensuring that there is adequate maintenance support to cover the factory. Those with a Maintenance / Engineering background in the Armed Forces, Royal Navy, RAF, Army/REME, are encouraged to apply as this role provides a fantastic opportunity for flexibly minded individuals to transition into industry.
The Job You’ll Do.
* Maintain site plant and equipment to the required business and legal standards, improving machine efficiency and preventing unplanned downtime.
* Support the development of efficiency improvements in line with the objectives of the factory.
* Continuously develop and support the Planned Preventative Maintenance System, implementing and recommending improvements that will reduce further downtime.
* Complete checklists allocated on a selective basis to ensure adherence to plan.
* Support the successful introduction of new manufacturing equipment and services.
* Liaise with production equipment suppliers and engineering sub-contractors to organise repairs and breakdowns that cannot be accomplished on site.
The Person.
* Armed Forces background.
* Possession of a full current UK driving license would be preferable although not essential.
* Possession of a compex (DSEAR) qualification would be advantageous.
* Possession of Health and Safety qualification i.e. IOSH would be advantageous.
* Experience of PLC fault finding, preferably on Siemens S7/S5 and Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, Omron and Control Techniques drive systems.
* Worked at heights using access equipment.
* Experience of working with three phase/single phase circuits and intrinsically safe circuits
