We are currently recruiting for a Part-time Accounts Assistant within our small and friendly business based in Huntingdon.
The role will suit someone who has a strong set of financial skills gained by either having achieved the AAT qualification or is part AAT qualified, with minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting and payroll. You will be managing the company’s financial and wage transactions.
Familiarity with Sage 50 Accounting and Payroll software would be ideal alongside a good working knowledge of Excel.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. You will have an excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload. You will be able to plan and prioritise work in order to meet deadlines. You will be a proficient accounts software user and have the ability to quickly learn how to effectively use other industry related software.
Duties Will Include:
Processing weekly/ fortnightly /monthly payrolls using bespoke industry related software
RTI submissions, P45s, P60s, P11Ds
Processing starters & leavers
Pension Scheme Administration
Compliance with payroll regulations
Addressing payroll related inquiries and issues
Full range of Purchase and Sales Ledger duties, including Credit Control
Quarterly VAT submissions
Preparation of weekly sales reports
Period income and expense recognition by preparing and posting general ledger journal entries and adjusting entries
Maintaining petty cash balances
Recording credit card transactions
Processing and monitoring expense forms
Regular bank account reconciliations
Monitoring and maintaining the weekly cashflow
Liaising with our external accountant regularly to provide the financial information required
Producing monthly management accounts
Assisting with budget creation
Analysing and communicating variances to the Branch Manager and Director
Reporting to the Branch Manager and Director to communicate the financial position of the company
Stay updated on best practices in payroll and financial management
Working hours:
This role would suit someone looking for part-time hours, somewhere in the region of 25-30 hours a week. We are flexible with regards to how these are worked.
Pay:
£35,000 - £38,000 pro-rata (depending on experience)
