JOB OVERVIEW /
Due to our continued success and expansion, Midland Structures Ltd are seeking experienced fabricators to join a growing team. Commutable to Brierley Hill, you will have hands-on experience working with structural steelwork and will be able to fabricate complicated assemblies working from detailed drawings. In addition to the required technical skills, you must also be motivated to be a part of a successful and growing business. JOB TITLE / Fabricator NIGHTS
LOCATION / On-site
JOB TYPE / Full-time, permanent
RATE / £17.50 - £20.00 p/h (subject to experience)
HOURS / 20:00 - 06:00, Monday - Thursday (4x 10 hour shifts with paid 30 min. break)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /
* Interpret drawings & specifications to understand project requirements .
* Measure, cut & bend materials to create the desired configuration.
* Use skill & knowledge to create new component parts or joints, where necessary.
* Use plasma/oxy cutting equipment & other fabrication tools.
* Use MIG welding equipment to complete tack welds & where required, fillet & butt welds.
* Work to critical dimensions & tolerances, often with minimal supervision.
* Work quickly but accurately to meet crucial deadlines.
* Adhere to company Health & Safety policies at all times.
* Ensure all work meets our strict quality standards.
* Maintain condition of tools & equipment.
* Maintain a tidy & safe workplace in line with company polices.
* Operate overhead cranes & other lifting equipment (training will be provided).
* Undertake manual handling / manoeuvring of steel.
* Where required, complete any other duties as directed by supervisors or senior management.
REQUIREMENTS /
* Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy.
* Experienced in working to strict quality standards.
* Able to work under pressure & meet tight deadlines.
* Experienced in fabrication of structural steel.
* Able to confidently use cutting equipment & other fabrication tools.
* Able to read & understand the requirements of technical drawings accurately.
* Use learned knowledge to create solutions to problems.
* Use MIG welding equipment safely & skilfully.
* Previous use of overhead cranes & lifting equipment.
* Good understanding & communication of English language (both verbal & written)
* Have a flexible approach to working additional hours (as dictated by workload).

Midland Structures Ltd is a well-established Structural Steelwork Contractor based in the West Midlands. We offer a coordinated design, manufacture, and installation solution for all types of steel structures & pipework services.
Through investment and innovation, we have developed a supply chain capable of accommodating our customer’s requirements with projects ranging from 1 tonne up to 1000 tonnes. With the latest software and machinery, we are able to process in excess of 150 tonnes of steelwork per week.
Our 70,000 sq. ft. factory is equipped with two cut and drill lines, submerged arc welding, in house shot blasting, plasma cutting, robotic coping, state-of-the-art robotic welding cell, off-site assembly and a dedicated intumescent paint facility.
