About the role: We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Camden, London, starting in January 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position offering a competitive daily rate of £85-£100. You’ll work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students, supporting those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenging behaviours. Application Requirements: The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, and empathetic, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. Essential qualities and skills include:
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3).
• Experience in an SEN setting is highly desirable.
• Experience working with children with ASD and/or challenging behaviours in a primary school setting.
• A strong understanding of SEND strategies, including de-escalation techniques and sensory support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• One-to-One Support: Provide tailored support for students with ASD and challenging behaviours, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop social and emotional skills.
• Behaviour Management: Implement de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
• Adapted Learning: Assist in the creation and delivery of personalised learning plans, adapting classroom activities to meet individual needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to provide comprehensive support for students.
• Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress, contributing to reviews and updates on their education plans.
